Designing learning that is powered by curiosity and grounded in research.

The Inquiry Project sits at the intersection of curiosity, metacognition and high-impact teaching. We work alongside schools to intentionally design learning that harnesses curiosity as a powerful driver for learning, while remaining grounded in evidence-informed practice,

A key focus of our work is helping teachers navigate the relationship between explicit instruction, Guided Inquiry and student agency. These are not competing pedagogies. It is about knowing when and how to use different practices with intention to build knowledge, deepen understanding and create opportunities for learners to question, explore and take increasing ownership of their learning.

Every school is different. Our work is shaped by the context, priorities, learners and community of each school. Through professional learning, coaching, curriculum consultancy and facilitated planning, we work alongside teachers to design curriculum maps, scope and sequences and Guided Inquiry units that have context, purpose and depth.

We also explore the role of  cognitive load and metacognition within this learning. Practical thinking routines, metacognitive tools, scaffolds and high-impact teaching strategies help make thinking visible, deepen understanding and build greater independence.

Our work is practical and grounded in the realities of classrooms. We draw on current research alongside worked examples from the schools we work with to help teachers see what these ideas can look like in practice.

At the heart of our work is one question: Are our students more curious about their learning than when they started?

We want learners to leave with deeper knowledge and understanding, new questions and a desire to keep learning. We want them to develop the confidence and agency to use their knowledge and skills to create, contribute and make a difference in their world. We want to support the design of learning learning experiences and sequences that are rigeurous and rewarding.

If you are looking to strengthen learning and professional practice within your school, we welcome the opportunity to work alongside your team. Please reach our for the CONTACT page here.
