Welcome to
The
Inquiry
Project.

Designing learning that is powered by curiosity and grounded in research.

Our work sits at the intersection of inquiry, explicit teaching and metacognition. We believe curiosity and evidence-informed practice are not competing ideas. When thoughtfully combined, they create powerful conditions for learning. Drawing on research into effective teaching, cognitive load and learner agency, we support educators to build knowledge and understanding while nurturing students' natural curiosity, creativity and capacity to think deeply.

Through professional learning, coaching, curriculum consultancy and facilitated planning, we help schools design learning experiences that combine high-impact teaching practices with meaningful opportunities for student voice, agency and inquiry. This includes supporting schools to design and implement Guided Inquiry across Science and Humanities, ensuring learners develop deep understanding, critical thinking and the confidence to make sense of the world around them.

At the heart of our work is a simple but powerful question:

Are our students more curious than when they started?

This question keeps us focused on what matters most. Not simply what students know, but how they think, learn and engage with the world around them.

Together, we work to create learning environments where students are active participants in the learning journey. Where questions are valued, thinking is visible and learners are supported to question, connect and explore ideas more deeply. Where retrieval, reflection and independence are intentionally nurtured, and where students develop the confidence and capability to make sense of an increasingly complex world.

Because our goal is not simply to help students learn more.

It is to help them become curious, capable and confident learners who are inspired to use their learning to make a difference.
Are our students more curious about their learning than when they started?
