Kate has worked as a Deputy Principal, Learning and Teaching Leader as well as ICT and Maths leadership and many years as a classroom teacher. With over twenty years of experience as an educator and leader in Catholic Education (Melbourne), Kate has worked with dozens of schools as well as MACS (Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools) system staff to celebrate, create and innovate learning design, particularly in the areas of Inquiry and technology.

With a passion for curriculum design, Inquiry, technology innovation and high impact teaching strategies, Kate has worked with hundreds of teachers to help enhance their capacity about what we as educators do in the classroom for the improvement of student learning.

In 2010 Kate was inducted as an Apple Distinguished Educator and served on the Advisory Board Panel of selectors for two years in 2011/2012. As a member of this community, Kate seeks to utilise the power of technology in teaching and learning to transform and enhance what is possible in every classroom for every child. In 2011, she completed her Masters of Education with honours from the University of Melbourne. Kate was featured in the 'Principals on cutting edge' series by Fractus Learning in 2017 sharing her passion for curriculum innovation and design.

Kate has served as the regional representative for MACS educators in the North Western Zone to develop strategic learning and teaching goals for the region. She has supported the development of the Victorian Curriculum through her involvement in reference groups with the Victorian Curriculum Authority. She has presented several conferences including ACEC, VITTA and EdTech.

Recently, Kate has lead the staff at St Thomas More Hadfield, to be accredited as a Google Reference School - recognised by Google for their outstanding use of technology to drive positive learning outcomes. Kate has worked closely with Google to share her experiences both at a local and global scale, participating and presenting at various seminars and conferences including 'The Anywhere school 2021'. She is also a Google Certified Educator (Level 1).

Kate developed the successful blog ‘Happy Ella After’ and Instagram of 10K+ followers helps families and schools navigate the dynamic world of education, particularly during remote learning.

Put simply Kate loves teaching and in particular the importance of Inquiry, technology and effective feedback in Primary Schools. As a mother and educator, wants to help children achieve their potential, nurture their talents and passions. She founded the Inquiry Project to support educators and learners to dream big, think boldly and design amazing learning experiences on purpose.
