About

Kate Korber

Kate is an experienced educational leader, consultant and founder of The Inquiry Project, with more than twenty years of experience across Catholic education in Melbourne. Her leadership background includes roles as Deputy Principal, Learning and Teaching Leader, ICT Leader, Mathematics Leader and classroom teacher, giving her deep expertise across both strategic leadership and contemporary classroom practice.

Kate has partnered with schools and system leaders across all systems including Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, State Department and Independent schools to strengthen curriculum design, contemporary pedagogy and whole-school improvement. She is widely recognised for her work in inquiry learning, curriculum innovation, technology integration and evidence-informed teaching practices that improve student outcomes.

A strong advocate for championing curiosity as a driver of learning, Kate believes that when students are invited to wonder, question and think deeply, engagement and achievement grow. Her work helps schools intentionally cultivate curiosity alongside rigorous, evidence-based teaching practice, ensuring learning is both meaningful and high impact.

Passionate about building teacher capacity, Kate has worked with hundreds of educators to design learning that is engaging, purposeful and intellectually rich. Her work focuses on helping schools balance explicit instruction, student agency and deep thinking through practical, high-impact approaches that can be sustained in real classrooms.

​

In 2010, Kate was inducted as an Apple Distinguished Educator and later served on the advisory selection panel. She completed a Master of Education with Honours at The University of Melbourne in 2011. She has presented at leading education conferences and events including ACEC, VITTA, TIES by Toddle and national EdTech forums.

​

Kate has also contributed to regional and state educational priorities, representing educators in strategic learning initiatives and supporting curriculum development through reference groups connected to the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.

Kate led the staff of St Thomas More School Hadfield in achieving recognition as a Google Reference School for outstanding use of technology to enhance learning outcomes. She has worked closely with Google, presenting locally and internationally, including at The Anywhere School. She is also a Google Certified Educator.

Since 2023, The Inquiry Project has partnered with more than 50 Catholic, government and independent schools across Australia and internationally. Through these partnerships, Kate has supported schools with professional learning, curriculum design and mapping, instructional coaching, and in-class mentoring to strengthen teaching practice and improve student learning outcomes in Science, Humanities, Health, Design Technologies and the General Capabilities within the Australian and Victorian Curriculums.

Through The Inquiry Project, Kate continues to work with educators and school leaders to design learning that sparks curiosity, builds strong thinking habits and leads to meaningful growth for every learner.
