Whole School Scope
and Sequence Mapping
Making sense of the curriculum is a challenging task. Educators need to have a deep knowledge of curriculum in order to differentiate and design learning that caters for varying needs, abilities and interests.
At the Inquiry Project, we work with schools to develop a curriculum map that makes sense of curriculum (both Australian Curriculum and Victorian Curriculum). We work with Primary schools to co-design scope and sequence plans that effectively map the progression of knowledge and skills across year levels, that integrate key learning areas and capabilities.
We support the development of throughlines that encapsulate big ideas and concepts that enable the exploration of key issues that impact on our lives and our world.
We work with schools to develop these plans from scratch, or to and enhance maps that require review and reform.
We then develop a range of documents that provide staff and students with visual tools to track their learning journey and document progress over time.
“A curriculum map is exactly that…a map! A map should inspire possibilities rather than limit options"
John Spencer
